Program Description

Based on the insights of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Thomas Berry, Miriam MacGillis, and Brian Swimme, the Earth Literacy at Home program is a study and discussion of our new understandings of our evolutionary past, the dynamics of Earth today, and how we might reinvent ourselves and our culture to facilitate our transition to a mode that enhances the integrity of the human and the florescence of Earth life. Such studies have been offered on-site at Genesis Farm for over two decades.

Overviews of Courses

The overviews of the six courses can be accessed from the Course Overviews menu in the left-hand column.

The first two courses will be offered during the last week of September to mid-December. The last four courses will be offered during mid-January to early June.  The fee for each course is $100 for non-credit participants. (Sixth course is free after the first five.) In addition, there are group rates. The courses will be offered in the sequence of the menu. Fees for for-credit students will be arranged with the educational institutions.

There will be considerable subject matter offered in each course. You may pick and choose what is interesting to you as there is likely to be more material in each course than most people will want to study. In addition to the conceptual material there will be suggestions for artistic and experiential activities.

There is a private discussion group associated with the courses. In addition we will gather for a conference call discussion via Skype at the end of each week.
